Taught by fiber artist and professional sewing teacher Crafty Katie who has 20 years teaching
experience with ages three to adult. A well known fiber artist with permanent installation in
Asbury Park and Long Beach Island. Crafty Katie services Ocean County's crafty needs .
It’s SEW Crafty SEWing lessons for ages 6- adult are being offered at the Lacey Recreation
Department.

Just Unwind Crochet and Knitting Group-7:30-9pm Thursdays    Come hang out with the Just Unwind group! Enjoy a Thursday night filled with yarn and laughter. Kids ages 10- 15 must be accompanied by an adult.  Learn to Knit or Crochet for FREE in a laid back environment, materials provided or bring your own!! Held at Lacey Recreation .. SEWing Experience at Lacey Farmers Market Aug 16th

Have a SEWing Experience at the Lacey Farmers Market this Friday 11am-4pm.

Design and sew a doll dress that fits 18inch dolls/14 inch standard teddy bear or  a pillow just for you! No sewing experience necessary, these crafts are geared toward ages three and up.

Each project is $10, with each add on( lace, appliques, ribbon,bedazzles ect ..is $1.00 each)

please allow approximately  20 minutes for this experience.

What's a SEWing Experience?

It's SEW Crafty's SEWing Experience is a mobile sewing craft room that allows boys and girls ages 3-12 to experience sewing on a machine!

Children pick either a doll dress or pillow to create.

Using stencils and appliques children design the front of their creation.

  Then they will be able to choose from a colorful array of fabrics for the back of their pillow or dress.

The last and much anticipated step... sew the project together! Children press the pedal while they watch and Crafty Katie run their fabric through the machine!

Sewing machine is kept safe behind plexiglass so little fingers won't get pinched!

Typically running time per project is 10 -20  minutes , perfect project for a rainy day!

Crafty Katie supplies her own set up, and can be set up indoors or out!

Lacey Day and Apple Fest 2018

 Lacey Day/ Apple Fest

September 29 at Gille Park from 12-4. 

Meet Crafty Katie and learn all about Just Unwind and the Lacey ART Group! Try weaving on a loom, finger knitting , and participate in a piece of community art!

There will be entertainment provided by Not So Normal Entertainment, 

Butter Churning, Vintage Games, and so much more. 

We have a shuttle from the park to the Old Schoolhouse Museum throughout the day.


 Parking will be available at Mill Pond School, Municipal Building and Middle School.

Bring a teddy bear and learn how to use yarn and a crochet hook to make them a sweater! No experience needed, all materials provided -Teddy bears must be labeled with child's name - bears will stay safe with Crafty Katie during the 6 weeks.

Fall Break Days at Recreation

Let your child spend his or her fall break at the Recreation department where we will have lots of fun and games set up through each day.  Special appearances by some of your favorite instructors.  Yoga, crocheting, fun fall crafts, games, slime, snacks and more.
