What's a SEWing Experience?

It's SEW Crafty's SEWing Experience is a mobile sewing craft room that allows boys and girls ages 3-12 to experience sewing on a machine!

Children pick either a doll dress or pillow to create.

Using stencils and appliques children design the front of their creation.

  Then they will be able to choose from a colorful array of fabrics for the back of their pillow or dress.

The last and much anticipated step... sew the project together! Children press the pedal while they watch and Crafty Katie run their fabric through the machine!

Sewing machine is kept safe behind plexiglass so little fingers won't get pinched!

Typically running time per project is 10 -20  minutes , perfect project for a rainy day!

Crafty Katie supplies her own set up, and can be set up indoors or out!

Lacey Day and Apple Fest 2018

 Lacey Day/ Apple Fest

September 29 at Gille Park from 12-4. 

Meet Crafty Katie and learn all about Just Unwind and the Lacey ART Group! Try weaving on a loom, finger knitting , and participate in a piece of community art!

There will be entertainment provided by Not So Normal Entertainment, 

Butter Churning, Vintage Games, and so much more. 

We have a shuttle from the park to the Old Schoolhouse Museum throughout the day.


 Parking will be available at Mill Pond School, Municipal Building and Middle School.

Teddy Bear Crochet at Lacey Rec

Teddy Bear Crochet with Crafty Katie

Bring a teddy bear and learn how to use yarn and a crochet hook to make them a sweater! No experience needed, all materials provided -Teddy bears must be labeled with child's name - bears will stay safe with Crafty Katie during the 6 weeks.

Let your child spend his or her fall break at the Recreation department where we will have lots of fun and games set up through each day.  Special appearances by some of your favorite instructors.  Yoga, crocheting, fun fall crafts, games, slime, snacks and more.

Fall 2018 SEWing at Lacey Rec

It’s Sew Crafty with Crafty Katie

Kids will learn to use a sewing machine, hand sew and use

patterns created by Crafty Katie specifically designed for boys and girls ages 6-12. Each six week session will be building their fine and gross motor skills by learning to pin and cut fabric as well as create their own

patterns. A wide variety of projects from stuffed animals to applique art!

Pick and choose your fabrics and decorate a pillow or doll 
dress with trim and stencils! Then help drive the sewing 
machine as your creation is sewn together!

CAMP CRAFTY
Boys and girls, join Crafty Katie and explore the art and craft of sewing and fiber arts. We will be weaving on all types of looms. Getting crafty with fabric by sewing-everyone will have a chance to use a sewing machine! Learn to crochet a teddy bear sweater with the Crafty Bears! And if that's not exciting enough. .. we will be felting with wool and finger knitting an awesome pillow! It's going to be a Craftastic time!
Campers may arrive early or remain at camp,depending on age group, for $10 a day

One 2 hour sessions ($45 individual class or $75 per person up to 6 participants) in your home or meeting place – the basics on how to use a sewing machine, and an age appropriate project ~all the materials and machines supplied or BYOSM- (bring your own sewing machine)







Crochet and Knitting


Two 1.5hour sessions in your home $70 learn to start the basics of knitting with the knit stitch and purl. Or crochet a book worm and move on to granny squares, materials included
